Steven Hogevold BSc (Hons) MRICS

Managing Director


Steve HogevoldSteve graduated from the University of Brighton in 1997, having gained an HND in Architectural Technology and Degree in Building Surveying. He obtained Chartered status in 1998 and began working towards his goal of setting up his own company, which he did six years later.

He started his career at NatWest Bank and has built up a broad range of experience whilst working at some of the leading property and engineering consultancies in the UK. In these roles Steve worked autonomously providing professional advice and services to a wide range of clients in a variety of business sectors.

As Managing Director of Morse Consultants, Steve takes a hands-on role in running the business whilst dealing personally with many of the company's clients. He has particular expertise in project management, property management and dilapidations.

Steve has a young family but still manages to find time to play golf, go shooting and to follow his beloved football team, Newcastle United. He is a keen skier, loves military history and enjoys spending weekends walking with his Lurcher Harry!


Thomas Andrews

Trainee Building Surveyor


Tom AndrewsTom is a trainee building surveyor at Morse Consultants, working towards his degree and professional qualifications. Tom gained valuable experience working on site for Lovell, a subsidiary of the Morgan Sindall group PLC and Vale Interiors (a fit-out contractor) whilst obtaining his HND in the Built and Natural Environment at the University of the West of England.

In 2008 Tom enrolled at UWE on a Building Surveying BSc (Hons) degree and maintained his employment within the contracting industry. He is currently in his third year of studies and is due to complete his first years' RICS APC experience in June 2011.

Tom has become a key member of the Morse Consultants team and works closely with his colleagues on a wide range of client instructions. He has already received positive endorsements from some of our clients who have been delighted with his professional knowledge and helpful approach!

Tom enjoys skiing holidays and has a new-found interest in Dubai after a recent visit where he was impressed by the culture and constructions. He enjoys Golf, fly fishing and spectator sports in his spare time, as well as cooking for family and friends.


Sophie van Zeller

Office Manager


Sophie van ZellerSophie began her career in hospitality, working front of house in a number of top hotels and restaurants, including the Hotel du Vin and Malmaison chain of five star hotels. It was here she was able to develop her customer service skills and business knowledge working in a variety of management roles.

Sophie then took on a role within a specialist Blue Chip recruitment company as Contract Administrator in their Head Office. She was promoted to office manager and worked closely with the company directors to assist with the expansion of the business.

Sophie joined Morse Consultants in November 2009 and has become a vital member of the team, working well in a client facing role, as well as behind the scenes to ensure everything runs smoothly. She has implemented a number of procedures to help prepare the business for growth and expansion and manages all aspects of HR, Business Development, Accounts and Administration.

In her spare time, Sophie enjoys dining out and attending wine tastings. She loves travelling and tries to visit a new destination every year. Having recently passed her driving test, she is looking for a new challenge outside of work and would love to learn a language.


Rosie Olley

Building Surveyor


Rosie OlleyRosie graduated from the University of Reading in the summer of 2009 having gained a first class honours degree in Building Surveying.

Rosie joined Morse Consultants after graduation and her positive attitude and potential became immediately obvious. Soon after joining, Rosie began assisting Steve in the project management of the refurbishment of the College of Occupational Therapists' Headquarters building in central London, working from project inception to final completion.

Rosie has obtained a wide base of knowledge and her enthusiasm, eye for detail and ability to adapt to the varied workload at Morse has made her a valuable member of the team. Rosie is currently focusing on obtaining Chartered status with the RICS which she hopes to achieve in late 2011.

Rosie has a keen interest in historic buildings and hopes to specialise in this over the coming years, through training and development at Morse. In her spare time she enjoys socialising, cooking and painting.


Harry

Dog


HarryHarry is a rescue Lurcher who has been with the Hogevold family since 2003. He had two previous owners who treated him very badly, so has had to overcome a number of issues over the past 8 years through training and personal development. He is an important member of the Morse team, providing fitness and nutrition advice as well as site security for the office, but due to his age he now works part-time. During the winter he takes on the role of senior foot-warmer and can often be found curled up under Sophie's desk!
