CDM Co-ordination...
The Construction (Design and Management)
Regulations 2007 came into force on 6th April 2007 and
replaces the previous 1994 regulations. The 2007
Regulations have been introduced to integrate health and
safety into projects and have imposed a number of
specific duties on clients if they are intending to
construct, demolish, alter, extend or maintain premises.
The key aim of CDM2007 is to integrate
health and safety into the management of the project and
to encourage everyone involved to work together to:
·
Improve the planning and management of
projects from the very start,
·
Identify hazards early on, so that they
can be eliminated or reduced at the design or planning
stage and the remaining risks can be properly managed ,
·
Target effort where it can do the most in
terms of Health and Safety,
·
Discourage unecessary bureaucracy. *
In addition, when a project exceeds 30
working days or 500 person days a CDM Co-ordinator must
be appointed by the client and the HSE must be notified
of the works.
We are able to assist clients with advice
and guidance to ensure that they are fully aware of
their responsibilities under the Regulations and also
act as CDM Co-ordinators to advise and assist clients
with their duties.
